|Episode 005|| The girl introduces herself as Xiao Wu and San fights her for leadership of the Hostel. He loses after she uses the ability of her 1st Ring on him (Waist Bow). San learns there is a divide amongst the rich and poor students of the Academy. Grandmaster tells San about the different Martial Soul types (Beast and Tool (which includes Auxiliary Types)).
| 005 || San is surprised that girls and boys are not separated by gender and is told that since they are children it's seen as fine. The girl introduces herself as Xiao Wu and says that her Martial Soul is the Soft Boned Rabbit. San tells her that his is the Blue Silver Grass and that her soul type would see his as food. The other boys then pressure San into challenging her to a fight which she agrees to. After skillfully exchanging blows for a couple minutes Wu manages to get under San's guard and lands a strong kick to the stomach (Waist Bow her 1st Spirit Ring), knocking San to the ground and claiming the title of Boss, which she excitedly accepts. San is bemused with her martial arts style which she calls Soft Skill since he hasn't seen anything like it before, while the other boys are astonished that both "working students" (since they both have to do jobs to pay for their food and such) are so strong. San then claims a bed with Wu quickly claiming the one beside it, where she asks what San's Soul Power is, which he replies Innate Full Power much to the surprise of everyone in the dorm. A man then enters the dorm carrying a large blanket asking for San, introducing himself as teacher Mo Hen, before giving the blanket to San and listing the jobs he and Wu have to do as working students, before leaving. When Wu makes an indication of wanting the blanket, all the other boys offer theirs, but she turns them down insisting on Sans. He argues that that is his only one and Wu insists they can share, before making a exasperated San push their beds together so they can.

Next it shows San, Wu, and Cheng entering a large 2 story lunchroom and Wu commenting on its size, drawing the attention of a group of boys on the second floor. They insult Cheng and the Hostel 7, leading to Cheng explaining to an angered Wu that the second floor is for the 'rich' kids while the poor and working students eat on the first. The boys walk off to eat and Wu tries to go up to confront them, but is stopped by San, before reluctantly letting it go. San then sees the Grandmaster and runs up to him, where the Grandmaster asks him if has gotten settled in and San thanks him for the bedding. Grandmaster then invites San to eat with him on the second floor, but San turns him down saying he would like to eat with his dorm mates, which Grandmaster accepts and tells him to meet him at the gates when he's done. Cheng asks him if he knows the Grandmaster and San says yes and that he is his Master, which Cheng is shocked over and says how even though Grandmaster is almost 50 he still hasn't gotten past level 29, and is seen as dysfunctional and weak because of that, which angers San who tells him not to talk about his Master like that again.

Scene break to Hao pretty much just missing his son.

Next is Grandmaster and San entering Grandmaster's office where Grandmaster gives San food and tells him to eat it quickly, which he does (working students don't get much food yet until they earn it). Grandmaster then asks San to show his second Soul, and San brings out the Hammer, which Grandmaster is surprised by, but quickly recovers after repeating San's last name (easily figuring out who San's father is). Grandmaster then says not to show the Hammer to anyone else and to definitely not give the Hammer any Rings, which San proclaims that's what his father said. Grandmaster then asks what his fathers' profession is and San says Blacksmith, which Grandmaster is first surprised over before bemusedly saying how 'perfect' that was. San asks why he can't add Rings to it, but the Grandmaster just says that it was important that he didn't, which San reluctantly agrees with trusting both Grandmaster and his father. Grandmaster then said that they would be getting San's first Ring tomorrow and asks San's opinion on his Blue Silver Grass, which San says since it is a Martial Soul it's bound to have its own meaning and use. Grandmaster agrees and says he wants to discuss the direction of it's growth. He then explains how there are two types of Souls; Beast Souls, where the person can add the power of the beast to their own achieving human-spirit unity to launch an attack (called Spirit Enhancement), and Tool Souls, where the vast majority can be used independent of the body and are of a 'assisting' nature (this category includes Food Souls, which can be eaten). He then says how Tool Souls are categorized; Food System, Detection System, Healing system, and Controlling system, and how depending on which system your aiming for you need to be careful of what Rings you get. San asks which system he should go for and Grandmaster explains how according to his research the Grass should have advantages since 1) the Spirit Power consumption of the Grass is low, 2) it's everywhere, and 3) it can conduct growth in many directions and cannot reject any Spirit Ring attribute evolution. San asks if a Ring can be rejected and Grandmaster says that it can if the Ring isn't compatible with your Martial Soul. He then says San has a 4th advantage unique to him...
