Grandmaster Ep 4

After getting to Nuoding city they get directions to Nuoding Primary Academy. (There's a short cameo of a girl in pink asking two students for directions to a dorm.) When San and Jack get to the gate though they are stopped by the gatekeeper who refuses to believe that a backwater village like theirs can have anyone with Soul Power, let alone someone with Full Soul Power, and tries to say their pass is fake. He then continues to insult them and their village before San uses Soul Power to knock him through the gate. San then goes into a sort of trance remembering a rule in Tang Sect that once a person has been established as an enemy that they are to be killed. But as San is activating to Hidden Weapon on his arm under his arm warmers (kind of like a wrist dart gun), he is interrupted by someone saying enough and a tall man approaching them. The gate keeper identifies the man as Grandmaster and backs down. Grandmaster then asks for their pass and identifies it as real while San deactivates the Hidden Weapon. He then tells Jack he can take San from there, and Jack tells San goodbye and that he will come get him when the semester is over.

Grandmaster starts showing San around, but when San calls him teacher he says he is not a teacher at the academy. When San asks if he holds another higher position, he says no, and that technically he's just a free loafer. He then tells San to call him Grandmaster since that's what everyone calls him, and that he hardly remembers his actual name. Grandmaster then tells San to not call him Teacher unless he wants to actually be his apprentice, which San agrees that he does (cause why not apparently). Grandmaster smiles and agrees to be his teacher, saying that San was smart to decide that, before saying that he was interested in teaching him since he had Dual Martial Souls. San freezes up, recalling one of Tang Sect Principles being to never let a possible enemy know your secrets. Grandmaster asks San if he knew how he knew San had Dual Souls, before explaining that during his research he found that there are 647 people with Blue Silver Grass Soul, among which only 16 had Soul Power but none over level 1. Yet San had Full Soul Power meaning 10. He then says "Based on one of the Rules in my research: 10 Great Martial Soul Core Competitiveness, your innate Soul Power is actually proportionate to the quality of your Martial Soul Type. Blue Silver Grass is definitely unable to meet the requirement for you to have Innate Level 10 Soul Power. That is why I am certain you have another Martial Soul and that it is very powerful." San tries to argue that he could be an exception, but Grandmaster goes on saying that in the last 100 years there have been only 2 Dual Martial Souls and 19 people with Innate Full Soul Power, and that every single one of the Innate Full Soul Power wielders had immensely powerful Martial Souls. He then states that he has even researched the different possible Variants of Blue Silver Grass and that no, it wouldn't work with any of those either.

San apprentices to Grandmaster

San asks what a Variant is, and Grandmaster says that while children usually inherit their Martial Souls from their parents, sometimes the Martial Soul changes into something similar yet different from the parents, and that the changed Soul can sometimes become something amazing, but is usually something weaker, and that he knows San has Dual Souls. San, amazed by the Grandmaster's extensive knowledge, goes to his knees, and officially asks to become Grandmaster's disciple. Grandmaster calls him silly and says to only prostrate himself in front of his parents or the king, which San says that a Teacher for a day is a father for life.

Nuoding Academy check in

Grandmaster then leads San into the registration room and tells him that the two men there will help him register and that he'll come back for him later before leaving. San says "yes Master" which surprises the men in the room, who tell San that the Grandmaster is not a teacher at the academy. San says he is His master, which the men snicker about. When San asks what's funny the man says that they didn't know the Grandmaster was taking disciples, before telling San to not claim someone as Master without fully meaning it, as the title Master can only be used for one person in your lifetime, and asks San if the Grandmaster is really suitable. San asks why wouldn't he be, but the men deflected the question saying that in a way he was invincible when it comes to Martial Soul, and that there's no harm really since San has Blue Silver Grass. They then gives San his instructions and dorm number (Hostel 7) and send him out, but after San leaves he overhears them saying how Grandmaster was 'invincible' theory wise and that many actually view his theories as useless and laughable. One of the men tells the others to knock it off, and that while nobody has proven the Grandmasters theories right yet, nobody can prove them wrong either. The other men still state that the Grandmaster is still rather famous for being seen as a joke. San smiles thinking that somebody that was actually a 'joke' wouldn't have been able to figure out he has Dual Martial Souls with just 1 piece of information, and wonders who the actual clowns are before leaving.

San-Sheng fight

San makes it to his dorm (Hostel 7) where is immediately attacked by a boy as soon as he opens the door. He quickly subdues his attacker and asks why he attacked. The boy identifies himself as Wang Sheng and says that that is the rules of the Hostel (dorm) for establishing who the Big Boss is. San says he doesn't want to be the Boss and just as Sheng is trying to convince him a girl in pink walks in asking if they are in Hostel 7...
