Due to Xuanyu being a humanized Dragon God divine beast, he does not require Spirit Pagoda's spirit soul system assistance. Instead, Xuanyu's Blood soul rings naturally awaken simultaneously for his twin spirits through cultivation, similar to Sima Jinchi and Tang Wulin. As of his 5th ring, Xuanyu's bloodline concentration and physique can benefit from Spirit Pagoda's Spirit Ascension Platform.

Each of Xuanyu's soul rings' age upgrades by 1 ring rank decree per each latter naturally awaken soul ring due to his high bloodline as a God-ranked Spirit Beast. Because his cultivation requires to gradually fuse his Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King bloodlines into one Dragon God bloodline per rank up, each rank actually has 1/2 of the original total of rings. Therefore, his twin spirits cause many to misunderstand his true number of rings because of the lack of the bloodline fusion knowledge.

Being the next Dragon God, a God above all God Kings, Xuanyu's cultivation rank is different from others. Tang Wulin predicts Xuanyu's current spirit master rank allows him to equal those mortal 30 ranks higher than him:

True Spirit Essences:

Revealed in Book 18, Xuanyu's true Spirit Essences are Twin Blue Silver Grass spirits with variation from inherent Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King bloodlines. Such is possible because his ancestral Spirit Essence is a God-level Blue Silver Emperor, allowing the two Dragon King bloodlines to coexist since birth and giving Xuanyu his Life Affinity Physique. The Twin Blue Silver Grass evolve alongside absorbing God-level Life energies.

The gradually formed core aids Xuanyu to control his abilities and understanding as the manifestation of the Dragon God bloodline. In Book 14, Xuanyu's 5th Spirit Ring breakthrough creates a solid soybean-size Dragon God Core that lessens the conflicting bloodlines and accelerates his spirit power gathering, initially similar in function to the first soul core formed by 7-ring+ Spirit Masters. In Book 18, the 6th Ring breakthrough increases the core's size and Xuanyu's affinity with the world.
   • The predecessor Dragon God's Divine Core was found by Gu Yuena and Tang Wulin in Dragon Valley in SL3.
     • Currently this Core is under Gu Yuena's protection
   • Xiao Bao resides in Xuanyu's Dragon God Core to recover after the 5th Ring.

Spirit Souls

1. Secret (subordinate) Quasi-Spirit Soul: Golden Eye Black Dragon - Di Tian
   • Provides Quasi-God Spiritual Protection
   • Due to Di Tian's weaken state, currently resulting in no other abilities while requiring a minimum of 1-year hibernation within Xuanyu to be awakened, and 3 years minimum to stabilize in Xuanyu.
     • As of Book 13, Di Tian is observing Xuanyu 24/7 (tentatively).
   • However, if Xuanyu experiences life-threatened situations, Di Tian will act even if weakened.
   • Because Xuanyu is a young humanized Spirit Beast, he is not truly human until he obtains his 7th Ring, by then he can fuse with a Spirit Soul completely.
   • Di Tian has knowledge of the location of the predecessor Dragon God's Dragon God Core (Gu Yuena).
   • Di Tian's less appearances than Xiao Bao has led Xuanyu to almost forget about him.
   • Once Xuanyu awakens the Darkness Element, Di Tian can fully merge with Xuanyu as a Spirit Soul-like subordinate.
2. Quasi-Spirit Soul/Parasite: Treasure Hunter Beast - Little Treasure "Xiao Bao"
   • Originally the predecessor Dragon God's top cultivated parasite beast in charge of the Dragon Clan's many Divine Gardens in the Divine Realm. This parasite treasure hunter beast lived on the Dragon God's Aura.
   • Formerly possessed 1st Class God powers
     • Due to the long time surviving after the fall of the predecessor Dragon God, Xiao Bao's abilities have diminished and only by being nurtured with Xuanyu's Dragon God qi or qi from the Divine Realm can it recover gradually.
     • As of the Spirit Pagoda's Spirit Ascension Platform core explosion, Xiao Bao has started recover some of its Divine powers.
   • Currently possesses 1st Class God Divine Consciousness Spiritual Realm, master camouflage shape-shifting, and deep knowledge + experience about cultivating divine flora & rare treasures.
     • Its signature ability is Energy Conversion: examples are replicating any species of bloodlines for blood transfusions, or its 1st Class God camouflaging and shape-shifting
   • Spirit Beast World's Number 1 Thief
     • True to its nature, it only aims for the best treasures, willing to discard all unnecessary aspects of Douluo Planet's life energy just to get the elite parts only as resources.
   • Treasure hunter senses+abilities & master swindler
   • Resides under a soul slave contract to live in Xuanyu (Book 13), later (Book 14) lives in Xuanyu's newly created Dragon God Core.
   • Helps Xuanyu towards his cultivation as the next Dragon God by finding treasures (materials, minerals & immortal herbs) for him to use as well as assisting him during breakthroughs.
   • With its 1st Class God Divine Consciousness, Xiao Bao hides Xuanyu's five Red/Orange-gold spirit rings from those less than a 1st Class God Spiritual Realm as five/six any Rank spirit rings.
     • During the Shrek Blood Trial, post-Outer Court Graduation, Xuanyu had his 5 rings be White for good illumination.
   • Xiao Biao cares deeply for Little Lazy Bug because of their past relationship as fellow parasites on the predecessor Dragon God.
3. Parasite-Pet: Void Bug - Little Lazy Bug:Tang Kongkong or "Xiao Lǎn Chóng" (Book 17)
   • A god beast of the primordial Space element and the lazy elder sister of the original God of Space during the reign of the predecessor Dragon God. Little Lazy Bug parasited off the Dragon God's Space element, not for cultivation, but to eat and lazy on him while living on the Dragon God. This circumstance allowed her to become best related with Xiao Biao.
   • During the fall of the Dragon God, he sent away Little Lazy Bug and she indefinitely slept through the void, eventually falling into a star's cavern in the Dragon Horse Galaxy. There it smelled out the silver ore it loves to lazily to snack on. Against the unknowledgable lazy Little Lazy Bug, a certain mortal clan used the God-tier Space Crystals she excreted to evolve and have many God rank Space affinity members while mining and offering up silver ores to her. Later, upon Xuanyu's and company's infiltration of the same star, lazy Little Lazy Bug knew of Xuanyu's and Xiao Biao's existence. She immediately attached to Xuanyu and sought to return with them. In the process, Xuanyu collected tons of the unique silver ore and blew up Little Lazy Bug's cavern to escape with her.
   • In Book 18 during Xuanyu's 6th ring awakening, she intervened during the Silver-patterned Blue Silver Grass and forced the awakening of the Space element, tiring herself.
   • She is currently living in the Seven Saints little realm, obtaining a sleeping place in exchange for stabilizing the drain realm (because Xuanyu's elemental physique involuntarily drained the realm of its Ruin elements). Her "food" is provided by Xuanyu.
   • Later, she made a Spirit Soul Contract with Lan Xuanyu in order to evolve.
   • Tang Wulin called her, Tang Kongkong.

9-Elemental Physique

This innate physique provides Xuanyu with highest compatibility to: water, fire, wind, earth, light, darkness, space, life and ruin elements. This physique allows the elements to recognize Xuanyu higher than others.

• The actual elemental control still depends on spiritual power.
• Even Gu Yuena doesn't possess this physique because of the lacking of Ruin elemental affinity
• Because of his Ruin affinity, he involuntarily destabilized the realm of the Seven Saints during the Seven Sins Trial to enter the Inner Court. This characteristic makes Xuanyu blacklisted and having a restrain order by the Seven Saints.

Spirit Bones

Because Xuanyu himself is not entirely humanoid spirit beast, as well as his God-King level Dragon God Bloodline, most Spirit Bones desired by even God Rank cultivators are not compatible to merge with him. It is stated by Er Ming that currently, 1 fitting Spirit Bone is safeguarded by Shrek Academy, given by Da Ming and Er Ming themselves.
