The Spirit Bones are the bones which are left following the death of a Spirit Beast. The chances of a Spirit Beast dropping the Spirit Bones are extremely rare. Generally speaking, the lower the cultivation of a Spirit Beast, the lower the probability of producing a Spirit Bone. But the possibility of dropping a Spirit Bone does increase if the Spirit Beast feels huge amount of resentment before getting killed, dies willingly or if the Spirit Beast are grateful for their death.
The number of 100-year spirit bones was the least; 10-year soul bones didn’t exist at all. Relatively speaking, there were more 1,000-year spirit bones and 10,000-year spirit bones. But 100,000-year soul bones were extremely rare because 100,000-year spirit beasts were too few.
Spirit bones are naturally more powerful the higher the cultivation of the spirit beast, but there are also some exceptions such as some growth type spirit bones and external spirit bones. These are extremely rare and are extremely powerful. However, a growth type spirit bone only has one chance to grow. Once the host dies, its ability will be fixed. There are very few spirit bones that can grow twice. As for external spirit bones, they are very precious.
Spirit bones produced by different spirit beasts are different. It is impossible for a spirit master to choose the same type of spirit bone. Spirit Bones are considered as extremely important, as much as Spirit Rings, as they provide new abilities to the spirit master. Not only can a spirit bone strengthen the bone whichever area it is contained in, but it can also strengthen everything within, including meridians, muscles, bones, and so on. So, having a spirit bone is a comprehensive enhancement to the body. Unlike the spirit rings, spirit bones will not disappear because of the death of a spirit master and will remain. As long as they are not destroyed, they will be preserved forever.
A spirit master can have 6 Spirit Bones on 6 parts of the body, which cannot be overlapped. With an external spirit bone, it allows a spirit master to have more than 6 spirit bones. Also, having a complete set of 6 basic spirit bones will allow the body to undergo a qualitative change. According to their importance, they are as followings:
- Torso Bone
- Skull Bone
- Left Arm Bone
- Right Arm Bone
- Left Leg Bone
- Right Leg Bone
The torso bone is the connection between the six spirit bones, and it is also the core. A good torso bone can almost determine the direction in which a spirit master will fuse with the spirit bones in the future. More importantly, the torso bone has the largest influence on the body, and it has a very good nourishing and strengthening effect on all the internal organs. So, even if a spirit master only has the chance to fuse with one spirit bone, the torso bone will have the greatest effect on the physical qualities.
A Spirit Bone cannot be removed from a person unless they are killed or have the affected body part amputated. With the advanced technology, all the spirit bones can be removed, except the skull bone. Even so, the skull bone can be replaced with the implant.
Human Spirit Bones (Manhua Only)[]
Just like spirit beasts, spirit masters also have spirit bones. Compared to spirit beasts, humans take less time to form their spirit bones. It is called True Body Armour on the mainland and Combat Spirit Bone Plating True Body on Sea God Island. After absorbing six spirit rings, the spirit bones take on an embryonic form. The development process is divided into three stages:
First Stage: Activating the Combat Spirit Bone Plating True Body
- It begins when a spirit master reaches rank 70 and is ready to absorb a spirit ring. The quality of the 7th spirit ring will determine the quality of the True Body Armour, so the higher, the better. The 7th spirit ring is like a key to a locked door, it activates the Combat Spirit Bone Plating True Body.
Second Stage: Imprinting the Combat Spirit Bone Plating True Body
Third Stage: Awakening the Combat Spirit Bone Plating True Body
Spirit Bones Origin[]
Generally speaking, only extremely powerful soul beasts that undergo certain special circumstances upon death have the possibility of producing soul bones. It is not like every soul beast will have soul rings. Therefore, soul bones have become extremely rare and precious.
In the "Legend of the Dragon King", almost all the soul bones are the soul cores of soul beasts. After death, they transform into the most distinctive parts of their former selves. For example, for spiritual-type soul beasts, it is mostly the head; for strength-type, it is mostly the arms; for speed-type, it is mostly the legs, and for those with overall powerful abilities, it is the torso bone. Generally, soul beasts without a soul core are very difficult to provide soul bones. However, if it is a soul beast with a slightly higher bloodline level, there is a possibility that it will produce soul bones even before cultivating into a 100,000 year soul beast.
If a 100,000 year soul beast fails to advance to a great beast or fails to survive the beast's calamity, its soul core will explode, and the soul bones will also disappear. For example, when the Ice Bear King failed to cross the third calamity, it was unable to provide soul bones. If a soul beast fails in its re-cultivation or its soul core is struck, it will lose its soul bones. For instance, when the Snow Emperor was forced to revert back to a soul beast during its re-cultivation, its soul core was destroyed and unable to produce soul bones. If a soul beast has its soul power plundered, the soul bones will also disappear. For example, Meng Tian who had its soul power plundered by Di Tian, was unable to produce soul bones.
Spirit Bones Purpose[]
Although they also enhance the attributes of the soul master, their main function lies in the attached soul skills. On the other hand, soul bones are the opposite. Perhaps soul bones do not come with skills (in fact, in the plot, there are no instances of soul bones without skills, which can be explained as a setting choice by the author), but they provide tremendous enhancement to the soul master themselves. In other words, the earlier one obtains a soul bone, the longer the time available for its evolution. Generally, there are only a few types of soul bones that can be absorbed: limbs, head, and torso. This means that the average person can absorb six soul bones, just as a soul master can absorb nine soul rings. The quality of soul bones and their effect on the soul master mainly depend on the timing of absorption and whether their attributes are compatible with the individual.
In the era of the "The Legend of Dragon King", soul bones are no longer merely power-enhancing entities. Instead, they are used to construct the framework of super soul spirits for the Spirit Ascension Platform. In the "The Legend of Dragon King" era of Douluo Continent, soul beasts are scarce, and battle armors can fully utilize the functions of the original soul bones, with even better effects. The role of soul bones is mostly focused on weapon manufacturing.
Artificial Spirit Bones[]
In ancient times, Spirit Bones would only emerge in spirit beasts. That’s why spirit bones are extremely rare. Only in the recent few thousand years that the Spirit Pagoda begins to develop Artificial Spirit Bones, allowing the Spirit Bones to become more popular. However, Artificial Spirit Bones cost a lot of money in the development process, so an astronomical amount of money is needed to buy Artificial Spirit Bones. The benefit of Artificial Spirit Bones is that its years can be upgraded in the future! Following the advancement in spirit guidance technology, Artificial Spirit Rings and Spirit Bones can be upgraded in terms of their years, and the location to increase the number of years is the Spirit Ascension Platform of the Spirit Pagoda.
However, the production of Artificial Spirit Bones is extremely costly, so the amount of money required to purchase them is astronomical. Generally speaking, ordinary soul masters cannot afford them. The Douluo Federation often rewards soul masters who have made significant contributions with artificial soul bones.

Soul Bones Classification[]
Soul bones are divided into six categories: left leg bone, right leg bone, left arm bone, right arm bone, skull, and torso bone. Among them, the strongest is the torso bone, followed by the skull, then the left arm, right arm, left leg, and right leg. Soul bones produced by spirit beasts of 10,000 years and below are only attached with one skill, while soul bones produced by spirit beasts of 100,000 years are bound to have at least two skills. Once a soul bone is absorbed, it cannot be separated from the body unless the owner is killed, in which case the soul bone will automatically drop and become ownerless. However, the first four types of soul bones have exceptions. When the owner reaches the level of a Titled Douluo, they can cut off their own limbs with soul bones at the cost of reducing their own soul power by 10 levels in order to forcibly remove the soul bones.
The term "torso bone" generally refers to the chest bone (changed to the vertebral bone in the later stages and also in the sequel's setting). The abilities of the torso bone mainly depend on the type of spirit beast and its cultivation years, and do not increase with the advancement of the owner's soul power.
When a spirit beast of 100,000 years or more is hunted and killed, it will definitely drop a 100,000 year soul bone, and the dropped soul bone will always be a part that the killer does not possess unless the killer already has all six pieces of soul bones or unless this type of spirit beast can only produce soul bones from a fixed part (such as the two 100,000 year Evileye Tyrant).

Spirit Bone Fusion[]
Spirit Bone Fusion is a process where the Spirit Bones within the body undergo fusion producing additional abilities. Such abilities are all extremely formidable, their boost to oneself is no less than that of two Spirit Masters joining hands to use a Spirit Fusion ability. Moreover, because it’s produced by the Spirit Bones themselves, it’s capable of reaching a seventy percent degree of fusion.
Spirit Bone Fusion abilities rely on the attributes of the spirit bones and still, to a very large degree, luck. The greatest challenge caused by spirit bone fusion abilities is, in order to produce such an ability, a person must first gather a complete set of six spirit bones.
