Everyone has a spirit. Every person receives their spirit at the Spirit Awakening Ceremony at the age of 6. The people who have essence when their spirit has awakened can become spirit masters. Essence level determines the level at which the training will start at. Only the people who have an essence level when their spirit is awakened can train their spirits. In some rare occasions the essence has already reached the highest level when the spirit first awakens. This is a rare talent called essence harmonisation. All Spirits are divided into 2 categories:

Tool Spirits can be used for lots of different fighting styles while the Beast Spirits are usually suited for offence. As the names suggest, when a spirit is a utensil it’s called a tool spirit, and with an animal as spirit it’s called a beast spirit. Comparatively speaking, tool spirits include a wider range, also the vast majority of people all have tool spirits, and the ratio of tool spirits unable to cultivate is much bigger compared to beast spirits.

Spirit Beasts

Spirit Beasts are animals or plants which releases their souls after they are killed, which can be absorbed by the person who killed them given that he has reached the promotion stage. Spirit Beasts are Classified based on their age and the color of the Spirit Rings released after death depends on their age.

Innate Full Spirit Power

During the Spirit Awakening Ceremony, those who have already reached Rank 10 in Spirit Power are known as having Innate Full Spirit Power.

It is said that Innate Full Spirit Power is a talent only appearing every 100 years.

Spirit Mark

When the Spirit has awaken, a spirit mark will appear on the master's body. A Spirit Master can hide this mark. Supressing the spirit mark is quite easy, like breathing. Even though it is very easy, succeeding on the first try is considered an outstanding talent. If masters imbue their spirit mark with enough spirit power, they can release it outside their bodies. It only lasts for a short time and there's no practical use for it.

Spirit Rings

Spirit Rings are the souls released by Spirit Beasts. following their death. The Spirit Ring can only be absorbed by the person who delivers the final blow and kills it and should be at a Rank (Rank 10, 20, 30, etc.) to be able to absorb it.

The Spirit Rings are divided according to their color.

White: 10 Year Spirit Ring
Yellow: 100 Year Spirit Ring
Purple: 1,000 Year Spirit Ring
Black: 10,000 Year Spirit Ring
Red: 100,000 Year Spirit Ring
Light Blue: 1,000,000 Year Spirit Ring

Optimal Spirit Rings According to Rank

The Spirit Ring should be absorbed according to the rank of the person, and exceeding the limit would lead to injurious situations, rejection and even death.

1st Spirit Ring: Less than 423 years old Spirit Beast
2nd Spirit Ring: Less than 764 years old Spirit Beast
3rd Spirit Ring: Between 1,300 & 1,800 years old Spirit Beast
4th Spirit Ring: Between 3,000 & 5,000 years old Spirit Beast
5th Spirit Ring: Around 12,000 years old Spirit Beast
6th Spirit Ring: Below 20,000 years old Spirit Beast
7th Spirit Ring: Between 30,000 & 50,000 years old Spirit Beast
8th Spirit Ring: Above 50,000 years old Spirit Beast
9th Spirit Ring: Only Ring that can absorb a 100,000 years old Spirit Beast

Spirit Forests

Spirit Beasts dwell in Spirit Forests. Spirit Masters who have leveled up will come to these forest to hunt Spirit Beasts and collect their Spirit Rings as well as get a new skill.

Spirit Beast Evolution

Spirit Beast Evolution is a choice that is offered to Spirit Beast who has reached the age of 100,000 years.

At the age of 100,000 years Spirit Beasts are offered two paths to travel on:

To continue cultivation as a Spirit Beast retaining their abilities and appearance and live for another few thousand years
To become human and start cultivating anew to reach the 100th rank to have eternal life

Only 1 out of 10 Spirit Beasts who have reached the age of 100,000 years would choose this path.
